It started with a classroom room project in 2022. When a New York University graduate student identified a common issue with dating: there is so much to do in New York City, but when it's time to plan a date, singles find it challenging to make it happen. Secret Date's founder, Ja'Carla, wants to encourage singles in New York City to connect with people outside of their social circle and give them a safe space to share their unique dating experiences. We provide the community with the necessary tools to spark creativity for special dates that will transcend the casual mundane: meet up at a restaurant to learn more about each other. Secret Dates gives the community easy access to fun offline events (online if COVID-19 is surging) such as speed dating and singles meetups. In addition, the community is able to receive realistic advice on how to navigate the challenging New York playboy and party girl dating scene by inspiring them to date with an empire state of mind in order to find success in the concrete jungle - because just like Jay-Z and Alicia Keys said, “In New York, concrete jungle…where dreams are made of. There’s nothing you can’t do. Now that you’re in New York.”
